There’s a new lift in the Old Pueblo. Lyft brings affordable rides from friendly drivers to Tucson today. And the first local rides will be friendlier than ever – drivers have stocked up on everyone’s favorite local frozen fruit drink, Eegees, and will be giving one to every Lyft passenger this weekend to celebrate the launch!*
Not only does Lyft make it possible to leave your car at home (and avoid the perils of permits and parking meters), it also fosters community here in Wildcat country. Passengers sit in the front seat, so students, snowbirds and all residents have more opportunity to connect with one another.
In Tucson, you could catch a ride with a former U of A student body president, an elementary school music teacher, a roller derby referee, a border patrol agent or many local students. Every new user receives two weeks of free rides thanks to Lyft Pioneer, so grab a seat (and a treat) to see what Lyft is all about.
*On Friday, the Eegees Vanette will be on U of A campus at 1420 E 1st St. from 12-3pm handing out free cups. On Saturday, select Lyft drivers will have Eegees in their cars - and all weekend long, Lyft drivers will have coupons for a free Eegees available to every passenger.
