NYC: Your Back-to-School Survival Guide

Back-to-school season is upon us! To make sure you start the year off right, we’ve gathered the top tips you need to know for a picture-perfect school year in the city.

While in NYC, the US Open is not to be missed. Arthur Ashe Stadium is only a short ride away. Be sure to stop at The Lemon Ice King of Corona for a sweet treat afterward!

New York is a wonderfully huge city, so remember to get off campus once and a while. Check out different spots, like Jackson Heights in Queens, which has cuisine ranging from Tibetan to Ecuadorian. Go people-watching and shopping in Williamsburg in Brooklyn, and marvel at the zoo and botanical gardens in the Bronx. For a free way to see the Statue of Liberty, take the Staten Island Ferry.

Did you know your student ID gets you free admission into most museums? It’s true: you have access to world-class exhibits at the MET, MOMA, Whitney, New Museum, and many others, just by showing your ID.

Lyft will be on campus at NYU and Columbia University throughout the week of September 7th. Find us in our pink T-shirts for fun swag and free ride credits!
