Where to Lend a Hand in Atlanta

Where to Lend a Hand in Atlanta

With the holidays fast approaching, it's the perfect time of year to give back. Here are some opportunities to lend a hand in Atlanta this season.

Lift Up Atlanta's Thanksgiving Food Drive

With the goal of feeding over 300 families for Thanksgiving this year, Lift Up is going to be very busy collecting food and goods. They'll need the help of many volunteers to make this goal a reality. You can help by donating canned goods, disposable roasting pans, boxed mashed potatoes and stuffing, cake mixes, and more. You can bring individual donations or hold your own food drive to collect for this wonderful cause! For more information on how to donate or volunteer, check out their website.

Hands on Atlanta

With a completely full volunteer opportunity calendar, Hands on Atlanta offers up tons of fun ways to help out the local community. From Books for Africa, to planting trees, to helping elementary students after school, there is no shortage of ways to get involved. Lyft Atlanta has experience volunteering for this awesome organization, and we love all of the great work they do for our beautiful city.

12 Days of Caring

From the end of November until mid-December, volunteers will be collecting and wrapping gifts for the Children's Restoration Network. Donations can include books, clothes, toys, gift cards, and even diapers and formula. Last year more than 3,000 homeless children received presents. Over 18,000 gifts will be delivered this year and more volunteers are always needed. If you want to get a head start the CRN is also doing a Thanksgiving Food Drive this month. Check out their calendar to see where you can help out.

Holiday House

Every year the Atlanta Children's Shelter holds their Holiday House, where families can come shop for presents free of charge. This week-long event allows parents the chance to give their children a bright and happy holiday! For this year's ACS Holiday House you can help out by volunteering your time at the event, or you can donate items. They make it easy by providing us with a list of items that are a perfect fit for families in need.
