Nothing beats the holidays in the city of brotherly love. Philadelphians take seasonal celebrations seriously, and you don’t have to look too hard to get in the spirit. From dazzling light shows to famous christmas markets, there are plenty of ways to get your jingle on.
Shop — or Skate — 'Til You Drop
To find that perfect gift, you have to go to City Hall’s Christmas Village. Designed to mimic a traditional German Christmas market, the village has everything; traditional German sweets, plenty of vendors to please your inner shopaholic, and of course, enough mulled wine to warm us up on even the coldest days.
Ready to get your skate on? Rothman Ice Rink is located right around the corner at Dilworth Park, and is the perfect venue for you to showcase those figure skating moves. Prefer to observe? Fear not, the Rothman Cabin is located next to the rink and offers all the hot cocoa and seasonal treats you could imagine. The German market vibe continues across town to Penn’s Landing. Known for popular seasonal activities, the park is featuring Winterfest through March, which includes an ice skating rink on the shore of the Delaware River, a Swiss-style chalet, and enough lights and decorations to help anyone get in the spirit.
The City is Lit
