Holiday Activities Not To Miss In The Bay

The Bay Area is lit! With Christmas lights, ice skating, gingerbread houses, and more. For those staying local this year, there are festivities galore to help you get your jolly on. Let Lyft be your sleigh ride and check out our top seven activities not to miss this holiday season.

For the family: Head down to San Jose for outdoor ice skating and carnival rides at Christmas in the Park. Or if you're looking for a more relaxed experience, you can take a stroll through the forest of Christmas trees on display, while sipping on some Mexican hot chocolate. Yum!

For the comedy lover: As the world's longest running musical, Beach Blanket Babylon is a great way to celebrate the holidays with belly-aching laughter. Follow Snow White as she travels the world and encounters pop-cultural characters such as T-Swift, Kim K, and even Darth Vader.

For the art enthusiast: Request a Lyft ride and explore the streets of San Francisco to find all 35 art installations of Illuminate SF. Located in 12 neighborhoods, artists have lit up the city with glowing master pieces which use everyday buildings, street structures, and more.

For the actor/actress: Get into character at the Great Dickens Christmas Fair. Through out December, Cow Palace will be transformed into Victorian London with hundreds of interacting performers filling the make shift pubs, dance floors, and Christmas shops.

For the sweet tooth: Take a trip to the San Francisco Fairmont where elves have been hard at work, building a gingerbread house. The catch? It's a life size, two story Victorian gingerbread house. Complete with 100% edible decorations. But don't let the sweet aroma tease you. Gingerbread Holiday Tea will be available every day throughout December as well.

For the dog whisperer: Become a forever home for a new pet at the Macy's and SFSPCA Holiday Windows. Head over to Union Square where puppy-dog eyes and kitten fur balls await.

For the holiday tradition lover: For over 70 years, the San Francisco Ballet has produced the beloved story of the Nutcracker. As one of the best acclaimed performances in the country, it's a great way to unwind and take part in a childhood favorite.
