Never miss a jazz solo, beignet, or parade, because Lyft is now live in the Crescent City. Whether you’re partying your way down Frenchmen street or eating your weight in crawfish, Lyft will get you wherever you need to go. Mardi Gras may be over for the year, but there’s no shortage of wild spots to check out all year round. Here are a few of our favorites:
The Cat’s Meow: This Bourbon street gem is the self-proclaimed “best karaoke bar in the world.” Besides a great excuse to exercise your vocal chords, it also offers a 3 for 1 happy hour drink special. Think about that for a second. Three drinks for the price of one. You’re pretty much guaranteed to have a good time.
Pat O’Briens: Home of the famed Hurricane cocktail, which is always served in a souvenir glass with the “Have Fun!” slogan written across it, this NOLA must-see has an enormous patio complete with a fire fountain (yep, you read that right) and a dueling piano bar.
Carousel Bar: This classic cocktail bar has been spinning for over 65 years. Because it’s literally a carousel. Plus, aside from the novelty of a revolving bar, the cocktails are truly A+ (we recommend the Pimms Cup or the Ramos Gin Fizz). You get to revisit the merry-go-round rides of your childhood — only this time, with drinks!
Coop’s Place: For your traditional Cajun-style eats, head to this hole-in-the-wall that prides itself on having the best jambalaya in town. Other favorite dishes include fried chicken, seafood gumbo, and lamb ribs. There’s almost always a line, but it’s worth the wait to rub elbows with fellow po’ boy patrons.
Cafe du Monde: In a city known for its beignets, it’s difficult to choose the beignet to rule them all, but Cafe du Monde’s are iconic. One bite of these powdered pillows of crispy dough, and you’ll find it difficult to go back to the run-of-the-mill donut. And don't kid yourself — you'll be glad they come in orders of three.
