It's been a tough week for ridesharing in Austin. While we’re disappointed that Prop 1 failed, causing Lyft to pause operations, we want to commend the charitable efforts and positive attitudes put forth from the Lyft Austin community in recent weeks.

April 30th, 2016 - Airport Cleanup
Lyft drivers Neil and Kevin led a team of volunteers in an airport cleanup. Lyft drivers and community members spent Saturday afternoon filling garbage bags with litter, which they noticed piling up while dropping off and picking up passengers at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

Rob, Lyft driver and chef, brought the tacos (350 of them) while future drivers took a ride in the pink pinata car during the community Cinco de Mayo event. The Movies in the Park crew held down the Lyft fort at Palm Park.
Thank you to the local Lyft drivers, ambassadors, and partners for making this such a special community — we hope to be back in Austin with you very soon!
