Here we are again, the days are getting longer, hotter (sort of) and school's finally out for summer! Memorial Day weekend is quickly approaching, but suddenly it’s a week away and you realize you forgot to make plans. If you don’t happen to be one of the lucky ones to have a lake house at your disposal for just the occasion, and you realize it’s too late to book flights to NOLA for the weekend, don’t fret!
In case you didn't know, you live in one of the top travel destinations in the world. (Seriously, we beat out Rome on that list.) It’s time for a Memorial Day Staycation, and Lyft is going get you here, there, and everywhere:
What's not to love about this place? So peaceful, so filled with wine. If you're looking for a serene escape out of the city, this is your spot. Bring a picnic basket and either load it up with goodies from home or purchase some grapes and cheese there! Do a tasting and set up shop among the vines for the day.
Whoever coined the term quaint must have been in Franklin at the time. It doesn’t matter whether or not you were raised there — it’s just one of those spots that make you feel at home. Grab a coffee at Frothy Monkey and do some window shopping down Main Street, or head over to The Factory at Franklin and try a mouth-watering, 100-layer donut from Five Daughters Bakery while eyeing the goods from all the local merchants that are housed there.
That’s right, Nashville Shores is officially open for the weekends as of May 14th! Weather permitting, you can enjoy all the park has to offer, which is pretty much anything you could imagine when it comes to an ideal Memorial Day. Rent a lakeside cabin, maybe a pontoon boat for the day, spend the afternoon at their awesome water park or among the trees in their Treetop Adventure Park!
One of Nashville’s best kept secrets. Hidden just north of the city in the White’s Creek area of Nashville, Fontanel boasts a variety of activities sure to keep you busy for the day. Try out some Natchez Hills Wines at their winery, hand-crafted, small-batch whiskey at Prichard’s Distillery, and end the day at Cafe Fontanel, where you can grab some authentic Italian cuisine for dinner while listening to local talent on stage. They also boast one of the best outdoor music venues in Nashville, so check out the lineup at Carl Black Chevy Woods Amphitheater and see if any of your favorite bands are playing!
So get out there and enjoy Memorial day in your own backyard! Nashville has so many great escapes to enjoy. And of course, let Lyft get you there safely. If you’re new to Lyft, sign up to get two free rides. Already have Lyft? Save 10% off your Memorial Day trips with the code NASHMEMDAY.
