Driver Mode Off, Tour Guide On

This spring, New York resident Joann attended a conference in San Francisco. She was only in the city for a few days and she wanted to make the most of it. “I ventured out on my own and requested a Lyft ride to go to the De Young Museum. At first, the driver Jose and I were just chatting about my first visit to SF and how much I love the city. Then he asked me if I would like a free tour. He was very sincere so I took him up on the offer!”

“He turned off his driver mode and took me to a couple sightseeing places.” The first? “The Palace of Fine Arts,” she says. “We walked the entire park together.” After that, they headed to the Golden Gate Bridge, where Joann posed for a photo. As their tour continued throughout the day, Jose explained the history of different parts of the city.

At the end of the day, Joann paid and tipped him for the original ride, and the two said their goodbyes. But for Joann, it was an experience she won’t soon forget. “I really appreciated the time he took to show me around! It makes me love SF even more.”
