Neighborhood Spotlight: Astoria, Queens

Neighborhood Spotlight: Astoria, Queens

You may know Astoria for its Greek food or its famous Bohemian Beer Garden (the oldest and most legit in NYC), but did you know that you could spend a whole day exploring brunch spots, craft coffee, museums, cute boutiques, and speakeasies? Check out some of our favorite spots.

Brunch: Queens Comfort
We can’t mention Astoria without bringing up QC and Donut Diva. Don’t expect run-of-the-mill brunch items here! Do expect to get there early or wait in line around the block. Queens Comfort is also BYOB, so don't forget to bring some champagne for your mimosa. Menu stand-outs include the cornflake crusted chicken & waffle, avocado & bacon benedict, and deep fried french toast balls. Donut Diva’s genius creations won’t disappoint either — her donut flavors change daily.

Boutique shopping: Lockwood and Lockwood Style
Lockwood encompasses all things chic and fun. It's extremely well-designed and curated with a mix of new and well-known brands. The two shops sit beside each other on 33rd Street, one focusing on clothing and accessories and the other on home goods and kids' toys and books. Mention this blog post and receive 15% one item!

Coffee: 60 BeansAstoria Coffee, Gossip CoffeeOK Cafe
With so many great options in Astoria, we couldn’t pick just one. You know when you walk into your favorite coffee shop and you instantly feel at home? All of these coffee houses hit that sweet spot. Not only do they serve excellent drip, cold brew, lattes, and whatever else floats your joe boat, but the staff and atmosphere make you want to stay all day. The food choices are top-notch, too.

Dinner with a side of mixology: The Pomeroy
The Pomeroy made the news when Lady Gaga attended opening night at her childhood best friend’s new restaurant (yes, the Pomeroy). Even after the celeb hype has settled, the restaurant continues to delight diners and drinkers with their farm-to-table menu and handcrafted cocktail selections. The kale and brussels sprout salad is a must, along with the honey chipotle chicken wings and polenta fries.
