DFW Neighborhood Spotlight: Deep Ellum

DFW Neighborhood Spotlight: Deep Ellum

If someone asked you where the heart of Dallas is, you would likely say Downtown or West End. But if they asked you where the soul of Dallas is? No question, it’s Deep Ellum. Deep Ellum is equally charming and edgy, rich in history, with roots in art and music.

Host to four of DFW’s Top 10 Lyft Destinations, Lyft passengers are loving what Deep Ellum has to offer — and it's easy to see why. Deep Ellum has seen tremendous growth recently. With restaurants, breweries, coffee shops and bars popping up on every block, the neighborhood is growing quicker than ever.

Art & Music
Popular music venues like The Bomb Factory and Trees are now the go-to venues for shows of all genres. Take a stroll through the neighborhood and discover pops of color around every corner as murals contrast the brick walls of buildings.

Good Eats
Barbecue, burgers, pizza, noodles, oh my! Deep Ellum offers something for everyone with an array of restaurants for every palate.

Pecan Lodge dishes out award-winning barbecue. If pizza is your weakness, Cane Rosso is your happy place. Be sure to order the brisket pizza (topped with Pecan Lodge brisket) on Tuesdays to get the best of both worlds. Uncle Uber's is a local favorite serving up burgers and sandwiches. In the mood for Chinese? Monkey King has you covered with huge portions of wonton soups, noodles, and dumplings at great prices.

Late-Night Fun
Hit up Brain Dead Brewing or Deep Ellum Brewery to enjoy locally crafted beer and perfectly paired bar food. If beer isn't your thing, check out Black Swan Saloon for creative cocktails and infusions. Deep Ellum even has dive bars like Double Wide that offer unique drinks in a casual atmosphere.

Pro Tip: Parking is free until 6:00 PM in most meter spots in Deep Ellum, but extremely hard to come by. Forget the hassle of parking and take a Lyft ride this week to enjoy some of DFW’s best food, beers and nightlife.
