One of the best things about Denver is the variety of places to eat and drink. Whether it’s a high-end steakhouse or a hole-in-the-wall breakfast spot, the Mile High City has something to offer every palette and sensibility. Welcome the new year by visiting some of the freshest spots in the city!
Denver Central Market - Only in existence since fall of 2016, the Denver Central Market has already become one of THE places to eat, drink, and be merry. Stop in for a quick snack, a drink with friends or a full on meal. Offering everything from ice cream (Highpoint Creamery) to Pizza (Vero Italian) to fresh fish (Silva’s Fish Market), Denver Central Market has something for everyone.
Briar Common Eatery + Brewery - If you’re looking for good beers and exciting eats, try out Briar Common Eatery + Brewery in Jefferson Park. Run by brothers Kent and Greg Dawson, Briar Common is the perfect mix of a laid back spot to grab a beer and a foodie’s paradise - drafts are made in house and the menu veers away from typical bar food, featuring tasty and unique plates like ceviche tostadas and smoked portobello carpaccio. Briar Common also offers a brunch menu and two outdoor patios to enjoy Denver's sunny weather from.
Sushi Ronin - LoHi’s Sushi Ronin is one of the most buzzed about restaurants to open in Denver in the last year. Centered around omakase (chef’s choice), the menu at Sushi Ronin is adventurous and varied, appealing to the true sushi lover. Aside from beautifully crafted and delicious sushi, diners can look forward to a plethora of warm appetizers (edamame, yakitori, etc.) and rice bowls, among other culinary delights.
Retrograde - One of Uptown’s coolest new bars is hidden in plain sight. A speakeasy of sorts, Retrograde is entered by heading into what appears to be the walk-in freezer of ice cream shop Frozen Matter on E. 19th Ave. Once in Retrograde, treat yourself to a glass of wine, a beer, or one of 10 specialty cocktails. Another plus? Ice cream is a focal point. Buy some ice cream at Frozen Matter and take it with you or try a beer float at the bar!
Voicebox - Karaoke is beloved by the masses, but many bars that offer it are known for their divey feel and lack of cleanliness. This, however, is not the case for Portland-based Voicebox. Step out of the karaoke bar norm and into RiNo’s sleek new karaoke lounge, where you can reserve one of 10 private rooms, snack on delicious apps and have full control over your song list which is done ON YOUR PHONE. Who’s ready to get their Aretha on?
