Portland: Your Summer Travel Guide

Make the most of your time in the Rose City by exploring our top summer drop-off destinations. Whether it’s a killer outdoor patio or a stunning park, we’re sharing our top ride spots to make your summer travel a breeze.

1. White Owl Social Club

Fresh off its 2016 Lyftie Award win for most visited bar in Portland, White Owl Social Club is sure to bring in the crowds this summer, especially with its killer outdoor patio. Head here when needing a delicious libation on a hot summer’s day.

2. Providence Park

When we root, we root for the Timbers! Last summer, droves of passengers headed to Providence Park to see the Portland Timbers and Thorns play — while you’re in town, we suggest snatching up the last available tickets on StubHub because these soccer teams are not to be missed.

3. Rontoms

Another day, another patio. Like White Owl, Rontoms has a spectacular outdoor patio that draws the young and hip on any given night. If you’re looking for a place to sip a cocktail with the wind in your hair, go to this ultra-cool bar.

4. Powell’s Books

You can’t visit Portland without taking a pitstop at this iconic bookstore. With more than 1.6 acres of retail space, Powell’s is packed to the gills with new and used books, and draws oodles of visitors each year. Pro tip: If you can, go to Powell’s on a weekday or weeknight — weekends are a zoo!

5. Portland Japanese Gardens

Looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, and spend an afternoon in an oasis? Portland’s Japanese Gardens is for you. Considered the most authentic Japanese garden outside of Japan, Portland’s Japanese Gardens will help you find your zen—and it’s only a 5 minute Lyft ride from downtown.
