Over the next month, the San Francisco Municipal Transit Authority will be testing new light-rail vehicles for the Muni subway system. To do this, the Muni underground will be closed between the Embarcadero and West Portal stations on weeknights and weekends.
While Muni gets some exciting new train upgrades, Lyft is here to help commuters on the J, K, L, M, N and T lines keep moving. To help supplement the bus bridge transfers, Lyft will also provide discounted rides at affected stations.
Starting today until August 18, get up to $5 off weeknight rides from 8-10 PM on rides that start or end at the following stations:
Civic Center Station
Van Ness Station
Forest Hill Station
West Portal Station
The Muni subway tests will bring next generation trains into the Muni system and ultimately expand the SFMTA’s light-rail fleet by 50 percent. These upgrades means better service times, more reliable passenger doors, safer braking, and less overall maintenance. Ride on, San Francisco.
