At Lyft, our mission is to improve people’s lives through the world’s best transportation. We are honored to announce a multi-year partnership with HAAM (Health Alliance for Austin Musicians) that will allow us to do just that, by impacting the health and well-being of Austin’s heart and soul: its musicians.
At the center of this partnership is a solution for Austin musicians who are unable to afford transportation to their doctor’s appointments, medical treatments and therapy. HAAM members who qualify can now request a free Lyft ride to their medical appointments and to the vital open enrollment event HAAM is holding later this year.
As Will Lindow, Head of Marketing for Lyft Austin recalls, “Too often the health of the Austin musician is compromised because of income and affordability limitations. I experienced this firsthand as a musician here in Austin not that long ago, and HAAM was a literal life saver for me. We could not be more honored to work with HAAM, an organization that has written the book on impacting musician health and well being.”
As Reenie Collins, Executive Director of HAAM explains, "HAAM is excited to be one of Lyft's nonprofit beneficiaries in Austin. Relationships like this go beyond a simple monetary donation. Like HAAM, Lyft is a community partner that believes in giving back and bringing people together. We look forward to the impact Lyft will make on the lives of our members facing transportation barriers.”
