Lyft Recognizes Champions of Innovation

Lyft is proud to recognize eleven state legislators as Champions of Innovation.

From writing legislation to allow Lyft to operate throughout their states to advocating for drivers and passengers in their communities, these legislators have gone above and beyond to secure a long term future for ridesharing:

  • Sen. Bob Hertzberg, California

  • Rep. Joe Aresimowicz, Connecticut

  • Sen. Joe Negron, Florida

  • Sen. Jeff Brandes, Florida

  • Rep. Brandon Phelps, Illinois

  • Sen. Maryellen Goodwin, Rhode Island

  • Rep. Chris Paddie, Texas

  • Rep. Mando Martinez, Texas

  • Rep. Matt Dababneh, California

  • Sen. Eric Lesser, Massachusetts

  • Rep. Mark Cusack, Massachusetts

“We are thrilled to honor these legislators as Champions of Innovation. These legislators, representing states across the country, have been tireless advocates for the creation of public policy that embraces innovation while still putting the safety and well being of constituents first,” said Katie Kincaid, Lyft’s Director of Political Partnerships & Engagement. “In the past 3.5 years, 44 states have enacted comprehensive policy for Transportation Networking Companies, resulting in over $750M in spending by Lyft passengers at local businesses. It has been the leadership of legislators like these who have allowed for this growth in economic and transportation services.”
