You’re invited! Join us on June 24 at the NYC Pride March as we celebrate the milestone of marriage equality. To commemorate such a momentous occasion, we’re hosting an unforgettable wedding for three amazing couples.
The guest list? You + all of New York City. You’ll have the chance to participate in the fun by engaging with the Lyft team, who are marching alongside the float. Be on the lookout for exclusive, festive swag and enjoy the fun Snapchat filter we’ve created so you can have a unique way to share photos of the celebrations. We have an in-app surprise for you as well — don’t forget to check it out on the day of the march!
As if all of this wasn’t exciting enough already, our special guest, Bobby Berk, will be officiating the wedding. As one of the stars of the hit show, Queer Eye, his experience in the spotlight is a perfect match for the couples as they exchange vows in front of the whole city.
Meet the couples
Toni & Melissa can vouch Disneyland really is a place where dreams come true - it’s where the couple got engaged through a caricature drawing. They first met online and have since spent their time together enjoying an active lifestyle exploring their shared interests in winter sports and outdoor activities. They even spent their second date hiking in the mountains of New Hampshire. The couple has an 8 year old daughter and are looking forward to this next chapter in their lives.
Shakarah & Angelina’s relationship has taken many forms, but throughout all of those iterations, something always kept pulling them closer to each other. Their bond for art, board games, and working with children created a foundation and friendship that allows them to be their true, authentic selves with one another. Surprisingly to them, the couple says that deciding to get married is one of the easiest decisions they’ve ever made.
Andrew & Guillermo’s story starts off innocently enough: with Guillermo asking Andrew to go on a walk after meeting for drinks. Hours later, they found themselves consumed in each other’s laughter at the Chelsea Piers in Manhattan. The rest is history. The fashion designer/architect duo got engaged during an Easter picnic in Central park and knew without a doubt that they were meant for each other.
In addition to a wedding unlike any other, these three couples are each being given an exclusive honeymoon package. One Night, the app that helps you book affordable rooms in minutes as well as provides insider tips to make the most of your stay, is gifting each couple with a stay at one of their top hotels for the night after the Pride March.
Zola, the wedding company with a beautifully designed interface and over 500 brands including registry staples and unforgettable experiences, is also providing credits to each couple so they can make the registry of their dreams come true.
