Supporting Local Nonprofits with Lyft Community Grants

Lyft is committed to empowering nonprofit organizations doing incredible work to make our communities stronger, healthier, and more equitable.

Driving Toronto Organizations Forward

We know your organization has places to go, and we’d love to help get you there. Starting February 2019, registered Canadian charities in the Greater Toronto Area will be eligible to apply for a Lyft Community Grant. Each month, one charity will receive a $1,000 grant in the form of Lyft ride credit to enhance regular or one-off programs.

For the month of February, we’re excited to announce that the Together Project, a project of Tides Canada, which connects refugee newcomers and Canadians to build stronger, more integrated communities, will be the first recipient of Toronto’s Community Grant.

"We work across the GTA, and transportation can sometimes be a challenge for the newcomers and volunteers that we match, and for our volunteer interpreters that assist them. Lyft’s generous support will help Together Project build social connections between refugee newcomers and Canadians to create more welcoming communities by providing another reliable and convenient transportation option for newcomers and volunteers”, said Andrew Lusztyk, Together Project co-director.

Ready to apply? Fill out a short application and tell us how $1,000 in Lyft ride credit will help your organization. We will notify the winning organization no later than the 15th of each month, with the next winner to be chosen March 2019. For a full list of eligibility requirements, visit Lyft Toronto’s Community Grants website.

Your organization is driving toward something — let Lyft help you get there.
