A new report found Austin drivers spend more time sitting in traffic than any other city in Texas, more than 100 hours per year! March 8 is shaping up to be a doozy for Austin drivers — with an influx of visitors, big events around town, and already-existing traffic.
Through driving alternatives, Lyft hopes to help drivers with traffic headaches, ease carbon footprints, and empower folks like you to make the most of their commutes. In the end, we want to help reduce congestion in Austin by addressing one of the biggest issues in our growing city.
“Austinites don’t have to wait for new infrastructure to begin addressing transportation issues in our city,” says Lisa Kay Pfannenstiel, Executive Director of Movability. “Ditch Day encourages Austinites to rethink transportation habits, enabling us to choose options that save money, increase productivity, and reduce stress while on the road.”
On March 8, reclaim your commute and:
Take meetings and knock out to-do’s from the backseat
Enjoy less stress from driving in heavy traffic
Forget about parking headaches
Reduce your vehicle’s carbon emissions. Lyft operates as carbon neutral.
