Lyft is the Official Rideshare Partner of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™

Lyft is excited to be the Official Rideshare Partner of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo — in its 87th year! The famous three-night barbecue competition will kick off Feb. 21, followed by opening day on Feb. 24. There will be livestock shows, carnival games, shopping, and big entertainment — including the one and only George Strait!

We’ll be providing rides for all your Rodeo needs at the Lyft Spot, located in the Green Lot of NRG Park, just outside the Rodeo grounds.

And new this year, Lyft has your VIP access to Rodeo concerts! Take a Lyft Lux or Lyft Lux Black ride to the Rodeo and be dropped off at the Official Lyft Spot in the Green Lot for your chance to win a VIP ticket upgrade. Every day of the Rodeo, we’ll award each of the first 3 Lux or Lux Black vehicles to arrive (during designated time slots) with a set of 2 upgraded concert or Rodeo tickets. We’re talkin’ Chute seats, tickets to George Strait, steak dinners, and more! Get all the details here ›

Use These Tips to Save a Horse and Take a Lyft Ride

Request and Kick Back

When departing the Rodeo, be sure to request your ride only when you’re at the Lyft Spot. If you request a ride too early, your ride may not be able to wait for you. So, mosey  down to the pickup spot, open the app, kick up your boots, and enjoy some refreshments on us.

Don’t Mind the Stampede

We expect very high demand and extended wait times, especially during the barbecue contest and sold-out concert dates. While you wait for your ride, pass the time with a friendly game of Jenga or corn hole at the Lyft Spot.

Leave Times can Affect Ride Payment

Due to heavy demand, your ride payment may be higher at peak times. But don’t worry — the Lyft app will let you know if it’s busier than usual when you make your request.

Saddle up and Ride Smart

If you happen to overindulge, a Lyft ride is always safer than driving. And if you’ve had one too many turkey legs, maybe wait a minute to settle your stomach before getting your Lyft ride on.

Mosey With Care

Check the make, model, and license plate no. of your Lyft ride before getting in. The Rodeo is a massive event, and many cars will look alike. You can triple-confirm your ride by greeting your driver by name — and asking them to tell you yours.

Two-Step Tipping

After your Rodeo experience, rate your ride. Did your driver go the extra mile? If so, make sure to sing their praises with good feedback — and tips!

Please Mind the Rules

We want every rider to have a safe and smooth ride. Take a quick moment to freshen up on Lyft policies, like:

  • Riders must be 18 years old or accompanied by an adult.

  • Every rider must buckle their seatbelt.

  • No open containers.

  • No weapons.

We’ll see ya there!
