Helping During the Newark Water Crisis

Helping During the Newark Water Crisis

In response to the Newark water crisis, Lyft is committed to doing our part to help those in need. We’re activating our Wheels For All* program to help provide access to drinkable water.

Those seeking and eligible for bottled water can use code EWRH20 for discounted rides to water distribution centers in the Newark area. Valid for 2 rides, up to $15 per ride until Aug. 29 at 11:59pm EST, to and from the following locations:

  • Newark Department of Health and Community Wellness, 110 William Street

  • Bo Porter Sports Complex, 378 Lyons Avenue

  • Boylan Street Recreation Center, 916 South Orange Avenue

  • Vince Lombardi Center, 201 Bloomfield Avenue

Please note that certain locations and centers may be experiencing high capacity. Check your local center for more information, including opening hours, expected wait times, qualifications and water availability.

Safety is fundamental to the Lyft community and we will continue to monitor the situation and communicate with Lyft drivers, riders and government officials.

Our hearts go out to those impacted by the crisis.

*Wheels for All is a part of Lyft City Works, our commitment to deploy 1% of profits or $50 million every year (whichever is greater) to make cities better places to live.
