Creating Community Parks With The Trust for Public Land

Our work is rooted in making cities more livable by building them around people, not cars. As part of our commitment to cities through Lyft City Works we’re partnering with The Trust for Public Land (TPL) to create and protect parks in areas where they’re needed most.

For nearly 50 years, The Trust for Public Land has completed over five thousand park and conservation projects, and championed social equity and environmental sustainability. From Chicago and Los Angeles, to Denver and beyond, TPL works directly with communities to ensure everyone in the US has access to a quality park. This partnership supports our vision to create vibrant, healthy communities with green investments like Lyft bikes, scooters, electric vehicles, and our carbon offsets program.

"Lyft and The Trust for Public Land share a vision for more parks and fewer parking lots in our communities. As we move toward a more sustainable transportation system, we are excited to partner with Lyft to advance healthy, connected cities" — Diane Regas, President and CEO, The Trust for Public Land

We invite you to help us create more green spaces through our Round Up & Donate program. When you opt in, we’ll round up your ride payments to the nearest dollar, and donate the difference to The Trust for Public Land.

How to donate:

  1. Download the Lyft app

  2. Tap the menu icon in the top left corner of your app

  3. Tap ‘Donate’ Select ‘The Trust for Public Land’

  4. Tap ‘Opt In’ and that’s it!

In the coming weeks, we’ll share how we’re investing in seven new park projects across the US and how you as Lyft drivers and riders can pitch in.
