6 Off-The-Grid Vegas Spots Locals Love

This weekend, over 200,000 people and hundreds of exhibitors, companies, and executives will make the pilgrimage to Las Vegas for the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the largest consumer tech event in the world. Cutting-edge technology, exciting new products, and wild industry predictions are all givens at the show this weekend. But with all those people, something else is guaranteed: crowds.

Looking to get away from the chaos this weekend? We asked the local experts on the Lyft Vegas team to spill their favorite under-the-radar spots to eat, drink, and explore. Here's where to head if you want to experience Vegas like a Las Vegan:

Eat

Le Thai - This quaint spot in downtown Las Vegas is the epitome of a neighborhood gem: delicious food, warm and welcoming staff, and not too pricey. Come for the Thai cuisine, stay for the down-home atmosphere.

Herbs & Rye - Three words: Half price steaks. At this classic Italian-American eatery, locals and visitors alike rave about their happy hour food menu and cocktail selection.

Drink

Crown and Anchor - It’s your favorite neighborhood pub — if that pub was in England. Locals love the beer selection and fish and chips at this authentic British spot.

Commonwealth - You won’t find a bar like Commonwealth on The Strip. This downtown Vegas cocktail bar and lounge is downright beautiful, with artful decor and a cozy upstairs balcony. Its hipster, speakeasy vibe and great cocktails make it a must-stop for a night on the town.

Do

Container Park - Like the name suggests, this open-air shopping center is made entirely of shipping containers, making for a fun and unique way to spend an afternoon. It’s filled with boutique retail shops, unique restaurants, and live entertainment for all ages. Located in the heart of downtown Las Vegas, it’s just far enough from the crowds, but still easily accessible.
