The Best Holiday Traditions in Seattle

Walking downtown this time of year is like a winter wonderland. You'll see twinkling lights, a giant, dazzling Christmas tree, and you may even see snow — yes, snow! — every day at 6 and 7 PM. Twice a night every day through December 24th, Pacific Place puts on a snow show in their atrium. Or maybe you’ve been to Bellevue and have taken part in Snowflake lane. Every night at 7 PM through Christmas Eve, Bellevue Way transforms into Snowflake Lane for a 20-minute show of lights, music, dancing, and snow!

Here are more of our holiday ‘must do’s’ in Seattle:

  1. Winterfest at Seattle Center: You can watch award winning artists create amazing ice-sculptures, skate around the Winterfest ice rink, or follow the toy train as it winds its way through a turn-of-the-century village.
  2. Fulfill your childhood dreams of seeing reindeer at Swanson’s Reindeer Festival. This year Dasher and Blitzen will be there to help you pick out your Christmas Tree or find stocking stuffers for family and friends.
  3. Gingerbread Village at the Sheraton Downtown: Every year the Sheraton’s culinary team, and top architects from around the city come together to create these larger than life gingerbread houses. Make sure you attend so you can vote for your favorite!
  4. Zoolights: Don’t miss more than 600,000 LED lights creating wild animals and lighting the pathways as you walk through the zoo. This is a perfect event for kids and adults alike!
