Emily Nishi Joins Lyft as Chief People Officer

As Lyft’s growth continues to accelerate, we’re excited to share that we’ve hired a Chief People Officer, Emily Nishi. Emily will be leading our People team, impacting every touchpoint of the employee experience and making sure Lyft is a diverse, welcoming, and exceptional place to work.

Emily brings over 20 years of experience to Lyft, and joins us from YouTube where she headed up their People Team. Emily joined YouTube after 9 years at Google, where she led People Operations for Google’s Sales and Operations teams. When she first joined Google in 2005 she established the company’s Global Diversity & Inclusion programs. Emily has seen Google grow from 3,500 to 70,000 people during her time there.

Lyft's success has been powered by our remarkable team members and the values that bring us all together. As we continue our strong momentum, we want to make sure we’re always investing in two of our most valuable assets: our culture and our people.  We are thrilled Emily is joining Lyft to propel us forward.
