Today we’re excited to announce that Lyft Line has landed in two more U.S. cities: Nashville and Portland.
Line connects you with others going the same way, so you save money — it’s always less than original Lyft. Back in 2014, we introduced Lyft Line in San Francisco to reduce the number of cars on the road and provide more affordable everyday transportation. With the addition of Nashville and Portland, Line is now available in 18 cities across the country. Line makes up almost 40% of total rides in communities where it’s available.
How Lyft Line Works
Think of your recent rides. Remember all those empty seats? Imagine if they were filled with other riders traveling the same way, and you all split the cost. That’s Lyft Line in a nutshell.
Pro Tip: In Nashville and Portland, Line is only available in areas where it is busy near your pickup and drop-off locations.
Enter your pickup and drop-off locations as you normally would when requesting a Lyft ride.
If Line is available, tap the ride type selector and choose Line. Line prices are fixed upfront.
Get matched with others. Even if you don’t match with anyone, you still enjoy the quoted price.
Hop in. Line takes you door-to-door and always costs less than original Lyft.
