High five, Silicon Valley. Lyft Line is here and rides are only $5 within our discount zone for a limited time only. We’re talking from SJC Airport to SJSU for $5.
How Lyft Line Works
Think of your recent rides. Remember all those empty seats? Imagine if they were filled with other riders traveling the same way, and you all split the cost. That’s Lyft Line in a nutshell.
Select Line mode. Enter your destination and request a ride. Line prices are fixed upfront.
Get matched with others. Even if you don’t match with anyone, you still enjoy the quoted price.
Hop in. Line takes you door-to-door and always costs less than original Lyft.
Improving Transportation Together
“Traffic is a vexing problem in Silicon Valley. Thankfully, our valley is known for producing innovative solutions to vexing problems. I’m so pleased to see the popular Lyft Line service expanded from San Francisco to San Jose. Offering a 60% reduction for those who want to share their ride with others, this creates a real incentive for ridesharing,” — Carl Guardino, CEO of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group
“Silicon Valley’s innovation renaissance is a major boon for our economy. However, we are plagued with some of the highest traffic congestion in the state and in the nation. I have long championed a multi-pronged approach to alleviating Bay Area gridlock. I welcome Lyft Line’s investment into my district in San Jose as a potential alternative to single-occupancy vehicles and as a means to connect commuters to other transit alternatives that will improve ridership, reduce traffic congestions, and lower emissions.” — Senator Bob Wieckowski (D-CA)
