People in communities across the country rely on Lyft to get where they need to go. From work commutes to airport rides, Lyft makes safe, reliable, and affordable transportation more accessible to everyone. But it’s not just everyday rides that make a difference: Transportation becomes a critical need during times of crisis.
Our Relief Rides program is designed to help those in need during crises, like hurricanes or wildfires. As a part of our Relief Rides program, we’ve partnered with The American Red Cross, United Way, Team Rubicon, and a few other great organizations to ensure that all members of our community, and as many people as possible, can get rides when they’re most critical.
Today, we’re excited to share that we’ll be using Facebook’s Community Help crisis response tool to amplify our Relief Rides efforts. We’re among the first group of organizations and businesses with the ability to post to Facebook’s Community Help along with others such as Direct Relief, Feeding America, International Medical Corps, The California Department of Forestry and Fire, and Save the Children. As part of Facebook’s Crisis Response, which encourages friends and family to check in and share information during times of crisis, Community Help connects people to the help they need.
By participating in Community Help, we’ll work more closely with communities to directly provide transportation services through the Lyft network. We’re here to improve people's lives through the world’s best transportation — across every circumstance.
