Today, we are excited to welcome two world-class executives to Lyft, both of whom bring unique experience and passion to the company.
Tech industry veteran Rajil Kapoor has joined our executive team as Chief Strategy Officer. Raj has an entrepreneurial track record of turning disruptive ideas into big businesses. In 1999, he co-founded and was CEO of Snapfish, the pioneer in online photo services, which amassed more than 100 million users and was acquired by HP in 2005. After Snapfish, Raj joined Mayfield Fund where he led Lyft’s Series A round of funding and served as a board member. Later, he co-founded and was CEO of Fitmob which combined with ClassPass to create the largest global fitness marketplace.
Now he will be returning to Lyft to focus on company strategy and new growth opportunities. Raj has developed a personal passion for finding ways that technology can ensure urbanization happens in a positive way (see his post), which aligns with our vision at Lyft. In many ways, we’re welcoming Raj home.
Melissa Waters joins Lyft’s executive team as Vice President of Marketing, leading our brand and marketing strategy to fuel continued growth of the business. Melissa brings over 15 years of experience building some of today’s top brands. She joins us from Pandora where she was Vice President of Brand and Product Marketing. Prior to Pandora, Melissa held a variety of brand, performance, and marketing positions at Flip Video, Diamond Foods and The Home Depot.
We are thrilled to have Raj and Melissa join Lyft as we continue the momentum of the past year and work toward our vision of reconnecting people and communities through better transportation.
