Before you buy a pair of jeans, you probably check the price tag. You don’t want to be surprised when you check out. The same is true when you take a Lyft ride. Now you can ride a little easier knowing how much you’ll be charged — no surprises. In select U.S. cities, we’ve launched a new feature that allows passengers to see the total price of a Lyft ride before they tap ‘Request.’
How It Works
No Math Required
The total you see includes fees, taxes, tolls, Prime Time, and any promotions that apply—so you never have to do the math.
Update Your Route Anytime
Plans change. If you change your stop or destination, the ride total you were quoted will no longer apply. Instead your total will be calculated based on the usual, time and distance.
Adding a Destination is Optional
You may not always want to add a destination. No problem, tap ‘Skip’ to request a ride directly. Your ride total will be calculated based on the usual time and distance.
This feature is available in select cities, and more passengers can look forward to upfront ride pricing in the coming months.
Lyft reserves the right to charge you based on actual time and distance if you abuse the Lyft platform.
