Lyft and Allstate Foundation Purple Purse are joining forces to end domestic violence — starting in Chicago this October, during National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Domestic violence is at an epidemic level in the United States. One in four women will experience it in her lifetime, and in 99% of those cases, financial abuse also occurs. It is the number one reason victims can’t leave.
Allstate Foundation Purple Purse uses financial empowerment to help domestic violence survivors break free and stay free from abuse.
Beginning in Chicago this month, Lyft will show it’s support of Purple Purse through a unique in-app experience. When you enter the code PPURSE, you’ll unlock a way to support Purple Purse for one week starting on October 16, 2017. When you enter the code, you’ll unlock purple icons in support of the Allstate Foundation Purple Purse.
