Lyft was built on the power of a community that gets stronger with each passenger and driver. Starting Monday, May 1, we’re excited to harness the community’s potential with our newest program, Round Up & Donate. Opt in and we’ll round up each fare to the nearest dollar, then donate the difference to a charitable cause.
Who You’re Helping
In honor of Military Appreciation Month and the hundreds of thousands of Lyft drivers and passengers who are veterans, we’re proud to announce our first partner is the USO. For over 76 years, the USO has helped strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home, and country, throughout their service to the nation. We’ll continue to add more causes in the coming months, and keep you updated as we do. Lyft is exploring additional ways to contribute through local and national partnerships, starting with donating $100,000 in the next 12 months to support service men and women with their transportation needs.
How It Works
Make sure you have the latest version of the Lyft app: You’ll find ‘Round Up & Donate’ under ‘Settings.’ Simply turn it on once and we’ll automatically round up your fares after each ride. Round Up & Donate will be available first on Android, with iOS coming soon.
Your Bit Goes Far
Whether you request twice a day or once a week, each ride can make an impact. On average, Round Up & Donate adds just a few tax-deductible dollars per month. But when millions of us sit for something together, our collective action can make a difference.
